EMULATORS

When using these Dos emulators listed below, make sure to put the rom images in the same directory as the emulators in order for them to work properly.
Colem (DOS)-This is probably one of the best DOS emulators out there (once you learn how to use it on a Pentium). Is pretty much made for a computer in the 486 range, but will run well on just about any computer with at least a 486 processor and at MOST a Pentium II class 300 mhz processor (with a few adjustments). This zipped file not only includes the Colem emulator, but it also includes the Coleco ROM BIOS as well (which is needed to run the emulator).

Adamem v1.0 (DOS)- This is the best DOS Colecovision emulator I have ever used. It recquires at MINIMUM a 486dx33 with sound blaster and runs fine on my AMDK62 333 with 64 megs of RAM. Although i'm not quite sure how good it is for compatibility, I haven't had any problems running any games on it yet. One thing that this emulator does that no other emulators does is emulate Coleco's ADAM. This is a good emulation of ADAM, however, ADAM sucks anyway and I don't know why anyone would want to emulate it (this is only my personal opinion however). Cvem.exe is the Coleco Vision executable and adamem.exe is the Coleco ADAM executable.

Cult v2.9 Beta (DOS)- This is the WORST emulator I have ever used. The controls are terrible, there is no sound, and the sprites keep flickering on and off. I would'nt recommend this emulator but I will keep it on my site until I start running out of server space. Hopefully, the creators will do some updates on this emulator. This emulator requires a minimum of a 386 (don't know which clock speed) and runs ok on my AMDK62 333 with 64mgs of RAM.

Vcoleco (Win95/98)- From the makers of Colem. I would have to say that this is problably the best Win9x emulator out there (although I haven't yet seen any others). It's very easy to operate and runs most Colecovisions games. However, there are still a few games that will not run on Vcoleco (some of these games do run on Colem). Your best bet is to download more than one emulator as what one emulator will not run, another will. No emulator I have ever seen will run ANY Coleco game as of yet. This emulator recquires at MINIMUM a 486dx100 or Pentium 75 with at least 8mb of RAM (16mb for NT4.0). The RECOMMENDED system is a Pentium 100 with at least 16mb of RAM and a PCI based video card. A joystick and sound card would be nice as well.

Coleco ROMS (games)

PLEASE NOTE: These Rom files are meant as a backup for cartridges that you already own. You may download one of the below rom image files ONLY if you own the actual Colecovision cartridge. If you do otherwise, you must delete the rom within 24 hours, to do otherwise is illegal. Distributing these roms to others who do not own the actual game cart, or distributing these roms for profit is strictly prohibited by the law and you could be punished with a rather huge fine and/or jail sentence. THANK YOU.
